Care and Maintenance of Camera Batteries

2021-08-24

There are two types of camera batteries: lithium batteries and nickel-metal hydride rechargeable batteries. Although most of the batteries on the market are lithium batteries, some are nickel-metal hydride rechargeable batteries. The battery is an indispensable part of the camera, and the battery is the heart of the camera. A camera cannot work without batteries, nor can it take photos and videos.

Therefore, we should pay special attention to maintaining the camera battery during normal use to ensure its service life. So what are the aspects of battery maintenance? The battery maintenance methods are as follows:

One, charging time.

To charge a camera that is used for the first time, or to charge a camera that has not been used for several months, the lithium battery must be charged for more than 6 hours, so as not to shorten the service life of the battery when it is charged later.

When the camera battery is still charged and can be used for a period of operation, try not to recharge it many times to ensure the service life of the rechargeable battery. When it is used later, if it is a Ni-MH rechargeable battery because of its very strong memory, so The first 3 times of use need to be completely discharged and recharged, and each time it needs to be charged for more than 12 hours to activate the battery and ensure battery life;

If it is a lithium battery, because its memory capacity is not strong, it can be charged as long as the last battery is gone. Lithium-ion batteries should be charged for 3 to 5 hours, not more than 5 hours. Overcharging is harmful The battery damage is very serious, and charging for more than 12 hours may greatly reduce the service life and power of the lithium battery.

2, Avoid excessive discharge.

When we use the camera, we should prompt us to replace the camera battery in time in the battery alarm function module. If the battery runs out of the last grid, the camera will automatically shut down because the battery is exhausted, and then although it will charge the battery, its Capacity cannot be fully restored.

3, storage.

Before storing the battery, make sure the battery is charged to about 70%. If the camera is not going to be used for a long time, the battery should be taken out, wrapped with a protective cover, and stored in a ventilated and dry place. When storing the battery, be careful not to expose it to high temperature. Too high, wet and cold, and strong magnetic field, strong vibration place, can not be exposed to direct sunlight, can not be placed together with chemicals or metal materials, in case of short circuit and other problems, damage the camera battery.
